Nice to meet you, I'm Dillon!
I've always been an explorer, both in my free time and at work. As a young man, I had a wide range of interests and jobs. I've worked at McDonald's, for a construction company, at a winery, and as a part-time web developer for our family's golden retriever breeding business. I’ve also managed events for Virginia Tech and worked as a production artist and lead at Custom Ink.
But let's start at the beginning. My first passion was art, and my introduction to graphic design came in high school. I enjoyed creating fun flash animations, games, typography, and print pieces. I even had my art featured on the cover of the school's handbook. My interest in math and science led me to study architecture and CAD, where I excelled in AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor, placing second in Virginia's TSA CAD 3D modeling competition.
In college, I took classes in architecture, mechanical, and electrical engineering but found little passion in those pursuits. Feeling lost, I took a leap of faith into fine art and rediscovered my passion for creation. I focused on interactive sculpture, using mechanical and electrical methods to create pieces that encouraged touch and exploration, blending my love of creation with my technical skills.
After college, I worked as a production artist, using Illustrator and Photoshop to create print-ready files and artwork for various printing methods. I excelled in both speed and accuracy, quickly moving into a lead position where I helped others grow and managed change in a fast-paced production environment. Feeling stagnant, I began exploring ways to blend all my experiences and found UX, where I could use my curiosity to be creative and solve complex problems, highlight my technical skills, adaptability, and focus on the user.
In every project, I aim to bring these values to life, crafting solutions that not only meet user needs but also bring joy and drive engagement. Join me on this journey as we push boundaries and create impactful experiences together.
